We are often faced with circumstances that are beyond our control. We face strained relationships and communication barriers. We have parents who are aging, while at the same time trying to deal with our own mortality. We want to be the best that we can be, yet at the same time we are confronted with an ever- growing list of responsibilities that take time away from our own needs. More than anything, we want someone to say, “it’s ok, let’s figure this out together and you will get through this.” I have witnessed how effective counseling is; it offers respect, comfort, understanding, and peace.
Life offers many challenges. Life transitions can be difficult, whether it’s dealing with divorce, grief, children leaving home, retirement, taking on more responsibilities at work or trying to absorb other people’s problems, to name a few. Stress may cause frustration, tension in relationships, feelings that you have lost control of your life and that you cannot accomplish what you would like. Depression can be isolating, causing one to close down, giving feelings of loss and hopelessness. Your world may feel broken, sad, and overwhelming. You may feel very alone. Anxiety may not allow you to be who you once were or who you wish to become. You may find that your hopes and dreams seem further and further away and it is impossible to keep up the pace.
As your counselor, you and I will enter an equal partnership where you have the freedom to express whatever is on your mind. We will sort out the confusing details of your life and explore how emotions affect you. Together we can make sense of where you are in your life, recognize your strengths and find positive ways to cope and transition to a more productive and satisfying way of living.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
